Connect GMX Mail to AI Email Filter (IMAP Setup)

GMX supports IMAP, but access is switched off by default. You turn it on once in the GMX settings, then connect as usual.

What you need

• A GMX address (@gmx.de, @gmx.net, @gmx.at, @gmx.ch or @gmx.com)
• An AI Email Filter account (sign up free)

Step 1: Allow IMAP access

1. Log in to GMX in your browser and open E-Mail → Settings.
2. Select POP3/IMAP.
3. Tick Allow access via POP3 and IMAP and save.

If you use two-factor authentication at GMX, create an application-specific password in the security settings and use it instead of your normal password in step 2.

Step 2: Connect the mailbox

1. Sign in at app.email-filter.ai and add a mailbox.
2. Enter your GMX address. For gmx.de, gmx.net and gmx.com the server is filled in automatically.
3. Enter your password and connect.

Troubleshooting

• Login refused although the password is right: IMAP access isn’t enabled yet — see step 1. The setting can take a few minutes to apply.
• Web.de works the same way: enable POP3/IMAP in the Web.de settings and use imap.web.de on port 993.
