Spam in Bluewin Mail can mean unwanted advertising in the inbox, a genuine message in Spam, or a phishing attempt. These need different responses. Start by checking where the original message appears in Bluewin webmail.
Check provider protection first
Swisscom documents a mail spam filter controlled through My Swisscom. Suspicious messages can be reported as .eml files to [email protected]. Swisscom guidance.
Access the provider through a known bookmark rather than a link in a suspicious message. Keep provider protection active when adding your own sorting workflow.
Compare webmail and your email client
Find the same message in both places. If only your desktop client moves it, inspect local rules and connected tools. Change one setting at a time and compare wanted and unwanted examples. A familiar display name is not proof of sender identity.
Choose a narrow rule
An exact sender rule suits a stable address. Blocking an entire domain may also affect wanted messages. Content-based sorting is useful to evaluate when advertising changes its sender or wording, but classification is not a security check for links or attachments.
Review advertising before moving it
Before trying AI Email Filter, verify reachable IMAP access and supported credentials using the connection guide. Account configurations differ.
Try a category such as: “Unsolicited sales pitches offering SEO services or contact lists. Exclude invoices, order confirmations and messages with our explicitly listed support references.” Choose a review folder as the action.
- Select a small sample containing promotions, genuine mail and ambiguous cases.
- Write down expected categories before running a preview.
- Inspect each proposal and unapprove incorrect results.
- Apply only reviewed moves and check their location in webmail.
Check saved sender assignments and other active categories too. Start with moves rather than deletion; forwarded copies cannot be recalled.
