Connect iCloud Mail to AI Email Filter (App-Specific Password)

iCloud Mail works with AI Email Filter over IMAP. Apple requires an app-specific password for that instead of your Apple Account password.

What you need

• An iCloud Mail address (@icloud.com, @me.com or @mac.com)
• Two-factor authentication on your Apple Account (on by default for most accounts)
• An AI Email Filter account (sign up free)

Step 1: Create an app-specific password

1. Sign in at account.apple.com.
2. Go to Sign-In and Security → App-Specific Passwords.
3. Select Generate an app-specific password, name it AI Email Filter and confirm.
4. Copy the password Apple shows you (format xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx).

You can revoke it on the same page at any time.

Step 2: Connect the mailbox

1. Sign in at app.email-filter.ai and add a mailbox.
2. Enter your iCloud address. The server settings are filled in automatically.
3. Paste the app-specific password and connect.

Troubleshooting

• Login fails: make sure you used the app-specific password, not your Apple Account password.
• Custom domain on iCloud+: use the address you send from; the server settings stay the same.
• Password stopped working: app-specific passwords are revoked when you change your Apple Account password. Create a new one.
